We honestly can’t say enough about how wonderful our stay this past weekend turned out to be! Upon arrival we were greeted by name by Adam, the owner/chef, who took the time to show us around, pointing out the amenities (like free snacks, where to find extra towels, etc) and then personally showed us to our room. He told us a little of the history of the room (it belonged to the innkeeper!) and then left us to get back to the kitchen. We followed shortly afterwards and had a wonderful dinner out on the patio, ending with Adam stopping by our table to make sure all was as we had hoped it would be. The room itself was absolutely lovely, very comfortable, and just plain charming. The entire lodge is gorgeous and just dripping with history and charm. From the fireplace in the lobby, surrounded by comfortable furniture, to the wonderful photos of the resort from nearly 100 years ago, this lodge is a very welcome respite from the run-of-the-mill hotels that are all too common in this day and age. A special shout-out, too, to Angelica, who took out plenty of time to explain the history of the resort and to offer suggestions for nearby attractions, dining, etc. We will most certainly be back to this gem!

Great service and food. Very friendly staff and surrounding area was not chaotic. Went a few weeks ago and would definitely return to stay if ever in the area.

Wonderful place and overall experience. Highly recommended. Incredibly nice staff - went as far as making me a custom (not on the menu) item at the restaurant. Great- no better work to describe it.

Great experience, very friendly staff who stayed up late to check us in and feed us after our flight was delayed. Will be coming back yearly! The hotel itself was an awesome, well-kept historic structure. Highly recommend.

Cannot say enough positive things about this lodge. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Adam went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be returning.

The rooms were cute and quiet. Staff showed a genuine interest in our well being that went beyond what you’d expect. They drove us to our car (the morning after a wedding) because we couldn’t get an uber. Shoutout Adam! 100% will stay here again if we’re in baileys harbor.

I am so happy I found this place for our weekend getaway! Quiet, clean accommodations, the friendliest & most hospitable staff, and beautiful grounds. Starting the day with coffee in the sunroom with quiet music, ending the day with a drink in front of the fire pit. Everything was wonderful!

Stayed in mid-July. I think overall it is a nice place, but. When we first got there we could not find the place. While I know it is a standalone structure and should have been easily recognizable, but? For one, there is no name on the building, why I do not know. Number two, the street number is a small plaque that is hidden behind some type of pillar and not easily seen. We were frustrated how difficult this was. When we checked in there was no one at the front desk (which I think is typical for this place and others in Door County) and there was a sign to go to the restaurant for assistance. Found a young man behind the bar and told him we were checking in. Followed him back to the lodge and he eventually directed us to our room. He left and we got settled into our room. Found out real quick that our TV did not work and found that the HDMI cable was mangled and would not connect. Walked over to the restaurant and the young man walked back with me to our room to check on the TV not working. He said he would have to place a call to maintenance. We left for a bit and came back and the TV was working. Presume the maintenance guy installed a new cable. We also found out real quick that the air conditioning unit "within our room" made so much noise that we turned it off most of the time. Another thing that we found concerning was the far outdoor patio was in bad shape. While there were tables there with chairs it just needed some tidying up to make it look attractive to guests. It was a nice area since you could watch golfers coming up to the green that was close by. In the morning, all they have to offer guests is coffee (did not like it) and I think tea. The restaurant does not open until 11am. So I drove to Bailey's Harbor and a nice little coffee shop. Lastly, as I said it is a nice place overall. The lodge maintains the ambiance from its former glory days. Didn't try the restaurant, but we did golf at the attached course and that was great. It is in a quiet part of Door County and that is nice and 2 miles outside of Bailey's Harbor. So many choices of places to stay in Door County. Not sure if we would stay here again.
